3.1 What Demiurge does

  • Aeons of the planet (Solar System §12.4): the First, Second and Third Aeon, then the Phanerozoic Aeon from the primary radiation, with boundaries set by events (the formation of the world; the Great Oxidation; the explosion). They are numbered as the biology chronology’s are (Decisions Log §24).
  • Aeons of the history of life (Solar System §20.7g; Additions §4): numbered by the breaks in the history of life, with the Aeon that begins with the primary radiation named the Phanerozoic. Eras divide it at mass extinctions of 40 % or more of the lineages. Periods, Epochs and Ages are cut by what happens.
  • The further eons, built (Additions §4): Hysterozoic ("Later Life") after a dying of nine lineages in ten (Eras: Protozoic, Deuterozoic, Tritozoic, then ordinals); Necrogean ("Dead World") when the biosphere is lost; Xenozoic ("Foreign Life") as the first Aeon after an introduced origin of life. The triggers are judgements.
  • Models (Generate §2): simple (four planets, no belts or comets, no disturbance beyond the planet’s own), standard (the default) and advanced (the planet’s future followed two billion years further, so that a great dying can end the Phanerozoic and begin the Hysterozoic). These are the nearest the modules support to BWM’s and WT’s simple, standard and advanced models.
  • Cultural time: steps of a century, until the present rule stops it (section 12).
